Makes impact on two catches
Brown brought in two of three targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 31-23 wild-card win over Washington on Saturday night. He also rushed once for 22 yards.
Analysis: With Mike Evans (knee) active and filling his usual No. 1 role, Brown saw a lot less of Tom Brady's attention than in Week 17 against the Falcons. The veteran wideout still made his presence felt, however, recording a 36-yard touchdown grab late in the first quarter to extend the Buccaneers' lead to 9-0 at the time. Despite logging his fewest targets since Week 12, Brown could well be right back to a larger role in next weekend's divisional-round matchup against either the Saints or Rams.

Turns in vintage performance
Brown secured 11 of 14 targets for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the Buccaneers' 44-27 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Analysis: Flashing the type of speed and sure hands that made him one of the NFL's elite pass catchers for multiple seasons in Pittsburgh, Brown put together season highs across the board while pacing the Buccaneers in receptions, receiving yardage and targets. Brown's two scores, his third and fourth over the last three contests, came from 25 and 30 yards out in the second and fourth quarter, respectively. With Mike Evans set to undergo an MRI on the knee he injured in the first quarter per Jenna Laine…read more

Second TD in as many weeks
Brown brought in four of six targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 47-7 win over the Lions on Saturday.
Analysis: While the veteran speedster didn't quite enjoy as prolific an afternoon as fellow wideouts Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, he was a part of Tom Brady's record-setting first half with an impressive 12-yard touchdown grab in very tight coverage late in the second quarter. After being kept out of the end zone in his first five games as a Buc, Brown has now notched scoring catches in back-to-back contests. He'll have one more chance to tune up for the postseason in a Week 17 divisional tilt versus the…read more

Finally scores as Buc
Brown brought in five of seven targets for 93 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 31-27 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Analysis: Brown appeared to be on his way to another so-so outing until hauling in a beautifully thrown 46-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady with 6:19 remaining, which would turn out to be the difference in the game. The former Pro Bowler checked in second in receptions and receiving yards to Mike Evans on the afternoon while tying both Evans and Rob Gronkowski for the team lead in targets. Team-high catch total in win
Brown brought in all five targets for 49 yards in the Buccaneers' 26-14 win over the Vikings on Sunday.
Analysis: Brown tied Mike Evans for the team lead in targets while setting the pace in receptions on a day when there were only 23 total targets to go around. The veteran multi-time Pro Bowler has delivered only modest production in what has mostly been a short-area role thus far in Tampa Bay, posting a 25-217-0 line on 34 targets through five games. Brown does continue to draw plenty of Brady's attention, however, giving him a fighting chance at generating better numbers in a favorable Week 15 matchup…read more

Season-low numbers in loss
Brown brought in two of three targets for 11 yards in the Buccaneers' 27-24 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. He also returned one punt for two yards.
Analysis: Brown had given fantasy managers reason for optimism with his ascending numbers over the previous two games, but Sunday brought season-low figures across the board. The speedy veteran was regularly passed over in the passing game in favor of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Rob Gronkowski despite Tom Brady putting the ball up a robust 41 times. Brown will look to further acclimate to coach Bruce Arians' offense during the upcoming bye week before reemerging for a Week 14 battle against the Vikings.

Leads team in receptions
Brown caught eight of 13 targets for 57 yards in Monday night's 27-24 loss to the Rams. He also rushed once for one yard.
Analysis: Brown flashed some chemistry with quarterback Tom Brady by connecting on a couple difficult passes over the course of Monday's contest. While that relationship helped Brown lead the Bucs in receptions, targets and yards, teammates Chris Godwin and Mike Evans both scored touchdowns. Additionally, Brown had a critical deep ball brush off his fingertips during the second half. Despite leaving room for improvement, Brown still demonstrated his fast-evolving role in Tampa Bay's offense, as his catch…read more

Leads team in receptions
Brown hauled in seven of eight targets for 69 yards and lost three yards on his sole rush in the Buccaneers' 46-23 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: Brown was exponentially more involved than during his Week 9 debut, pacing the Buccaneers in receptions while checking in second in targets. The veteran speedster and Tom Brady displayed excellent chemistry in their third career game together, lending credence to the notion the pair may just be scratching the surface. Brown will look to build on Sunday's encouraging effort in a Week 11 Monday night showdown against the Rams' tough secondary.

Three catches in debut
Brown (suspension) had three receptions (five targets) for 31 yards in Sunday's 38-3 loss to New Orleans.
Analysis: Brown made his long-awaited return to pro football after getting himself exiled from the NFL and serving an eight-game suspension upon his reinstatement due to off-the-field issues. The 32-year-old didn't appear to lose a step during the extended layoff, running his signature option routes with crispness. While the stat line wasn't anything to write home about, the polarizing wideout was able to beat his free safety assignment deep for what would have been a long gain or potentially a touchdown…read more

Goes 'full speed' Wednesday
Brown, who was officially reinstated from his eight-game suspension Tuesday, practiced with the Buccaneers for the first time Wednesday and could play 10-to-35 snaps in his Week 9 debut against the Saints, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports. "He was going full speed," coach Bruce Arians said. "Everyone else was walking and he was going full speed, and that's him, anyway. It was good. Guys were helping him. He's got a really good handle on what we're trying to get done formation-ally and everything."
Analysis: The Buccaneers conducted a walk-through session Wednesday at their indoor facility, and Brown apparently wasn't able to hold back his enthusiasm in what was his first practice with a team since September 2019 while he was a member of the Patriots. The extent of the 32-year-old's role in his 2020 debut will partly hinge on the status of Chris Godwin (finger), who is uncertain to play after undergoing surgery last week. Brown played 24 snaps in his Patriots debut against the Dolphins last season…read more

Officially activated Tuesday
The Buccaneers activated Brown from the reserve/suspension list Tuesday, making him eligible to play in Sunday's game against the Saints, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Brown will officially return to practice Wednesday after serving his eight-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Coach Bruce Arians said Tuesday that he isn't sure how much Brown will play against the Saints, offering that a range of between 10 and 35 snaps is more reasonable than the 60-80 range. His usage may ultimately depend on whether Chris Godwin returns to action after undergoing surgery on his left index finger, but it appears Scotty Miller and Tyler…read more

To have limited role off the bat
Coach Bruce Arians isn't sure how much Brown (suspension) can expect to be on the field Sunday against the Saints, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports. "It could be 10 plays, it could be 35 plays," Arians said Tuesday.
Analysis: Brown has completed his eight-game suspension for violations of the personal conduct policy, but until he's removed from the reserve/suspended list, he won't officially be a part of the Buccaneers' active roster. Still, the move is slated to happen in the near future so Brown can get on the practice field Wednesday. Considering Arians noted 10 or 35 snaps and not something in the range of 60-80, Brown seemingly will be eased into the offense, even with Chris Godwin potentially missing a second…read more

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said that Brown (suspension) "looked fantastic" in his first team workout Wednesday, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: As a new arrival, Brown had to first produce negative COVID-19 tests for five consecutive days to satisfy league protocols, making Wednesday the first day he was able to enter the facility. Pending his reinstatement by the league after Week 8, Brown will be eligible to make his team debut Week 9 against the Saints. Nearing deal with Bucs
The Buccaneers are negotiating a contract with Brown, with Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times relaying that the deal is "99 percent" done.
Analysis: Though Adam Schefter of ESPN previously suggested that Seattle was still in the mix for the wideout's services, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network believes that "if all goes well -- and (Brown) and the (Buccaneers) expect it to -- he'll sign by the beginning of next week and be ready to play" as soon as Week 9, when he's eligible to be reinstated from his suspension. Brown (suspension) is scheduled to visit with the Buccaneers on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Pending his reinstatement by the NFL, Brown is eligible to return from suspension after Week 8, which has prompted teams to begin checking in with the wideout. The Buccaneers will be the first team to formally meet with Brown since he worked out with the Saints in December 2019, with Wilson noting that both player and team are "highly motivated" to reach an agreement on a deal. Draws interest from Seattle
The Seahawks are "positioned to make a push to sign" Brown (suspension) if he is reinstated by the NFL when eligible after Week 8, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The report notes that other teams are also pursuing the wideout, though the possibility remains that the league could still extend Brown's suspension beyond Week 8. If that doesn't happen, however, the talented wideout could return to play in the second half of the current NFL campaign. Should Brown link up with the Seahawks, his team context would be favorable, but for now, Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf are entrenched as the team's top wideouts.

Could have suspension extended
Brown's eight-game suspension could still be extended if the NFL obtains new evidence pertaining to violations of its personal conduct policy, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Brown has a Sept. 15 hearing for a civil suit based on a sexual assault accusation. The allegation has been public knowledge since last year, but it wasn't factored into Brown's eight-game suspension. It thus stands to reason that his ban could be extended if the civil suit brings about new information.

The NFL has suspended Brown eight games for violating the personal conduct policy, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: According to Dan Graziano of ESPN.com, Brown's suspension will begin Sept. 5 and run through Week 8 of the regular season or his team's eighth game (assuming he signs with a team). He should be able to participate in training camp if he signs within the next couple weeks.

Not eligible to sign
Ravens coach John Harbaugh believes Brown isn't eligible to sign with an NFL team at the moment, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Harbaugh was responding to media inquiries after Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson said he thought Brown would be a good fit in the Baltimore locker room. Brown's history of contentious relationships with teammates might seem to suggest otherwise, but the real issue is an ongoing investigation into a series of off-field incidents from the past year. Brown likely will be suspended once the NFL concludes its investigation.

Previous reports suggested the Buccaneers and Ravens weren't likely to sign Brown, but Seattle could be a fit. Per NFL Network's Michael Silver, the Seahawks and Ravens are reportedly having internal discussions about potentially adding Brown at some point down the road, NFL.com reports.
Analysis: For the time being, however, Brown, who was released by the Patriots last September, is under investigation by the NFL for his off-field conduct and could potentially face league discipline. With that in mind, Silver speculates that Brown may be facing a suspension of "about half a season."

Not wanted in Tampa
Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians said Brown wouldn't be a fit with the team, ESPN.com's Jenna Laine reports.
Analysis: Tom Brady reportedly had interest in bringing Brown to his next NFL stop, but Arians was quick to shut down the rumors, noting that he knows the wide receiver (from their time together in Pittsburgh) and doesn't think he'd be a good fit in the Bucs' locker room. It isn't even clear that Brown will be allowed to play in the NFL in 2020, due to his recent track record of off-field problems, per Chris Cwik of Yahoo Sports.
