Activated from COVID-19 list
Gostkowski has been activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: With that, Gostkowski, who made 18 of his 26 field-goal attempts this past season, is slated to be available for Sunday's playoff game against the Ravens. Sam Sloman filled in capably as the team's kicker in Week 17, but Gostkowski should reclaim the assignment this weekend.

Expected back Thursday
Gostkowski (reserve/COVID-19 list) is expected back Thursday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Per Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com, the kicker is slated to be "in the ramp-up process" Thursday and if all goes well, Gostkowski will be in line to return to action for Sunday's playoff opener against the Ravens.

Won't play Week 17
Gostkowski (reserve/COVID-19 list) won't be available for Sunday's game against the Texans after the Titans promoted Sam Sloman from their practice squad to handle the team's Week 17 kicking duties, Will Backus of The Tennesseean reports.
Analysis: Gostkowski was placed on the list Monday after either testing positive for COVID-19 or coming in close contact with an infected person or persons. Though Gostkowski would have had a chance to be available this weekend if he had tested negative for five consecutive days, the 36-year-old apparently wasn't able to clear all health-related protocols. The Titans will hope that Gostkowski can make it back for a wild-card playoff game Jan. 9 or 10, should Tennessee secure a spot in the postseason.

Lands on COVID-19 list
Gostkowski has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Analysis: Gostkowski's placement on the list means that he either tested positive for COVID-19 or has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. If Gostkowski isn't cleared in advance of Sunday's game against the Texans, the Titans have the option of promoting Sam Sloman from their practice squad.

Not asked to contribute much
Gostkowski made both of his extra-point attempts and did not attempt a field goal in Week 16 against the Packers.
Analysis: The Titans were playing at snowy Lambeau Field and faced a deficit for the entire game. Both of those factors combined to limit Gostkowski's ability to impact the game, though he did convert on the opportunities given. Gostkowski has not missed either a field goal or extra-point attempt since Week 10 against Indianapolis.

Perfect again
Gostkowski made all five of his extra-point attempts and made his lone field-goal attempt in Week 15 against the Lions.
Analysis: The Titans offense operated efficiently and found the end zone regularly, limiting Gostkowski's opportunities. However, he was effective when called upon, nailing a 38-yard field goal. After a rocky start to the season, he has not missed a kick in any of his last five games.

Nails 53-yard field goal
Gostkowski made his only field-goal attempt and all four of his extra-point attempts in Week 14 against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Gostkowski nailed a 53-yard field goal as time expired in the first-half. That continued his success with long-range attempts this season, as he has now made seven of eight kicks from more than 50 yards away. After a shaky start to the campaign, Gostkowski has not missed an extra point or field goal in any of his last four contests.

Tacks on three extra points
Gostkowski made all three of his extra-point attempts in Week 13 against the Browns. He did not attempt a field goal.
Analysis: The Titans were playing from behind for most of the game, limiting Gostkowski's chance to impact the game. However, he converted when called upon, making each of his extra-point attempts. While not a big performance, Gostkowski has found some consistency by not missing a kick across his last three contests.

Another perfect day
Gostkowski made his lone field-goal attempt and all six of his extra-point attempts in Week 12 against the Colts.
Analysis: Gostkowski posted his second consecutive week with perfect accuracy, though it wasn't his most challenging assignment. Kicking in the comforts of a dome, Gostkowski made a 49-yard attempt late in the third quarter to put the team up 38-14. Even given the low-pressure performance, Gostkowski has now made his last 11 kicks including both extra points and field goals.

Has perfect day
Gostkowski made all three of his field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try in Week 11 against the Ravens.
Analysis: Gostkowski has been inconsistent throughout the season but delivered three field goals to help the Titans to a win. After connecting on two 40-yard attempts, Gostkowski has now hit 10 of his 16 tries from 40 yards or more on the campaign. Despite his struggles, the Titans have shown no real inclination to bring in competition at the kicker position, meaning Gostkowski will look to build on this perfect effort in Week 12 against the Colts.

Another costly miss
Gostkowski made one of his two field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point attempts in Week 10 against the Colts.
Analysis: Gostkowski continued his up and down season. He began the game well, knocking through an extra-point attempt and a 50-yard field goal. However, he missed a 44-yard attempt early in the fourth quarter, furthering a second-half slide by the Titans. Gostkowski has made only 12 of his 20 field-goal attempts this season, rendering it a surprise that the team has not brought in meaningful competition for him to this point.

Gets back on track
Gostkowski made his only field-goal attempt and converted all three of his extra-point attempts in Week 9 against the Bears.
Analysis: Gostkowski has struggled for the entirety of the season and entered the gaming having missed at least one kick in four of seven games. However, he was perfect in Week 9 and opened the scoring with a 40-yard field goal to put the Titans up 3-0. He subsequently converted all three of his extra-point attempts. The Titans have surprisingly brought in little competition for Gostkowski despite his struggles, and this performance should ensure his continued role as the placekicker for at least another…read more

Another missed kick
Gostkowski missed his only field-goal attempt in Week 8 against the Bengals. He did convert both of his extra-point attempts.
Analysis: Gostkowski hit the right upright on a 53-yard attempt late in the first quarter, failing to tie the game at three. While it was a long attempt, the miss continued a rocky season for Gostkowski, as he has now converted only 10 of his 17 field-goal attempts. Despite that, the Titans have stuck with Gostkowski as their placekicker. He'll look to gain some consistency in Week 9 against Chicago.

Costs Titans chance to win
Gostkowski made one of his two field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point attempts in Week 7 against the Steelers.
Analysis: Gostkowski was perfect until the final play of the game, when he missed a game-tying 45-yard attempt as time expired. Earlier in the game, he had drilled a 51-yard field goal through the uprights -- his fifth converted kick from 50 or more yards through six games with the Titans. However, he's been inconsistent throughout the campaign, going only 9-for-14 on field-goal attempts for the season. Though the team stuck with Gostkowski through some early-season struggles, it wouldn't be a surprise…read more

Uneven Week 6 performance
Gostkowski missed both of his field-goal attempts but went 4-for-4 in his extra-point attempts in Week 6 against the Texans.
Analysis: Gostkowski played a role in a sloppy start to the second half for the Titans. On the team's first possession of the third quarter, he had a 27-yard attempt blocked. Two possessions later, he pushed a 37-yard kick wide right. He did redeem himself a bit by making all of his extra-point attempts, most importantly the final one to send the game to overtime. Gostkowski has had an uneven start to his tenure with the Titans, as he has gone only 9-for-14 on field-goal attempts across five contests…read more

Perfect in Week 5
Gostkowski made all six of his extra-point attempts in Week 5 against Buffalo. He did not attempt any field goals.
Analysis: Gostkowski was limited to only extra-point tries, but delivered on all of his opportunities. It appeared that head coach Mike Vrabel was going to turn to Gostkowski to attempt a 53-yard kick with just over four minutes remaining in the second quarter, but instead elected to take a delay of game penalty and punt the ball. Even with the limited opportunity in this contest, Gostkowski has converted 18 of his 19 total attempts since Week 1.

Knocks down six field goals in win
Gostkowski made all six of his field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point attempt in Week 3 against Minnesota.
Analysis: Gostkowski picked up the slack for a Titans' offense that regularly stalled once reaching scoring position. He accounted for 19 of the team's 31 points as a result, including field goals of 51, 54 and 55 yards -- the last of which proved to be the game-winning points. After a poor Week 1 performance during which he missed four total attempts, Gostkowski has missed only one of his last 13 kicks across the past two weeks.

Improves in Week 2
Gostkowski made both of his field-goal attempts and three of his four extra-point tries in Week 2 against Jacksonville.
Analysis: Gostkowski nearly cost the Titans a win in Week 1 against Denver, missing three field goals and an extra point. However, he played hero in Week 2, drilling a 49-yard field goal with 1:36 left in the game to give the Titans a 33-30 victory. Gostkowski also drilled a 51-yard attempt to close the first half. He'll look to maintain this performance in Week 3 as the Titans take on the Vikings.

Nightmarish debut
Gostkowski connected on one of his four field-goal attempts and one of two extra-point tries Monday in the Titans' 16-14 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: After failing to connect from 47 and 42 yards and having a 44-yard try blocked earlier in the contest, Gostkowski was at least able to come up clutch late in the fourth quarter, converting a 25-yard try with 17 seconds remaining to give Tennessee the win. Even so, Gostkowski's overall lack of accuracy could be enough to cost him his spot on the roster, as the 36-year-old had only been with the Titans for a little more than a week after beating out Tucker McCann in a tryout earlier this month.…read more

Wins starting job in Tennessee
Gostkowski secured the starting kicker job for the Titans, Joe Rexrode of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Gostkowski tried out for the Titans on Sunday and officially agreed to a contract Thursday. The veteran kicker then beat out Tucker McCann for the starting gig. This is an intriguing landing spot for Gostkowski, as he's the league's all-time FG percentage leader (87.4). The Titans offense is on the rise thanks to the Ryan Tannehill and A.J. Brown diversifying an offense that once was fully dependent on Derrick Henry, so Gostkowski should be in line for plenty of opportunities with the Titans.

Signing with Tennessee
Gostkowski and the Titans have reached an agreement on a contract, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: The Titans waived Greg Joseph early Thursday morning, leaving Gostkowski and Tucker McCann as the two kickers on their roster. McCann is an undrafted rookie out of Missouri, while Gostkowski holds the No. 5 spot on the NFL's all-time FG percentage list (87.4). It thus seems likely that the 36-year-old will step right in as the top placekicker, despite missing four PATs in four games with the Patriots last season before a hip injury forced him to injured reserve. Gostkowski worked out for the…read more

Tries out for Titans
Gostkowski (hip) tried out with the Titans, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Gostkowski has seemingly recovered from the hip injury that landed him on injured reserve in 2019, and he's searching for a new landing spot after 14 years with the Patriots. The 36-year-old was fairly reliable in 2019, making seven of eight field goals (88 percent), although he struggled with extra points, converting just 11 of 15.

Let go by Patriots
The Patriots will release Gostkowski (hip), Jim McBride of The Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: When healthy, Gostkowski was entrenched as the Patriots' kicker since he was selected in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. A hip injury limited the 36-year-old to four games last season, however. Per Doug Kyed of NESN.com, with Gostkowski on the way out, Matthew Slater is now the longest-tenured player on the Patriots.

Could be released
Gostkowski (hip) may be released this offseason, NESN.com's Zack Cox reports.
Analysis: Gostkowski missed five kicks in four games last season before landing on injured reserve with a hip injury. He's now entering the last year of his contract, with the Patriots able to clear out nearly $3.5 million in cap space if he's released. The 36-year-old probably needs to accept a pay cut to have any shot at sticking around.
