Returning to action in Week 12
Mack (groin) is active for Monday's battle against Baltimore.
Analysis: A groin injury kept Mack out of last Sunday's win over the Bengals and held him to a trio of limited practices this week, but the veteran pass rusher will be able to suit up Monday despite the issue. He'll have a challenging task ahead of him against Lamar Jackson and a Ravens defense that hasn't given up many sacks this season. Mack ranks third on the Chargers with 4.5 sacks on the season.

Questionable for Week 12
Mack (groin) was a limited participant in Saturday's practice and is questionable for Monday's game against the Ravens.
Analysis: Mack was sidelined for Week 11 against the Bengals due to a groin injury, but he was able to practice in a limited capacity all week. Joey Bosa and Tuli Tuipulotu would see a heavy amount of snaps if Mack and Bud Dupree (foot) are unable to play Monday.

Remains limited Friday
Mack (groin) was a limited participant in Friday's practice.
Analysis: Mack has opened the Chargers' week of practice with back-to-back limited sessions after missing the Week 11 win over the Bengals due to a groin issue. The veteran pass-rusher's participation Saturday will likely provide the best indication of whether he'll be able to return for the Chargers' Week 12 matchup against the Ravens on Monday night.

Estimated as limited participant
Mack (groin) was listed as a limited participant on Thursday's estimated practice report.
Analysis: Thursday was the first time Mack has practiced or played since aggravating a groin injury during the Chargers' Week 10 win over the Titans, during which he only played four defensive snaps. If he is able to practice Friday and Saturday, that would give the veteran pass rusher a good shot at returning from a one-game absence against the Ravens on Monday. In the eight regular-games prior to his injury, Mack registered 26 tackles (12 solo), including 4.5 sacks, five pass defenses, two forced…read more

Inactive Sunday night
Mack (groin) is inactive for Sunday Night Football against the Bengals.
Analysis: The outside linebacker did not practice all week and only played four defensive snaps in the Chargers' Week 10 win over the Titans. In nine games this season, Mack has 26 tackles (12 solo), including 4.5 sacks, five passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Bud Dupree and Tuli Tuipulotu should see more snaps in Mack's absence.

Questionable despite DNP
Mack (groin) did not practice Friday but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Analysis: Mack was able to play through a groin injury in the Chargers' Week 10 win over the Titans, but he was limited to just four snaps on defense in that contest. Despite not being able to practice all week, the Chargers have tagged Mack as questionable for Sunday's game, though he'd likely see a limited snap count if he does end up suiting up. Should Mack be ruled out, Bud Dupree and Tuli Tuipulotu would see more snaps alongside Joey Bosa.

Opens week as DNP
Mack (groin) didn't practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Mack came into Sunday's win over the Titans battling a groin issue and although, he was active, he played just four defensive snaps. Wednesday's DNP suggests that he could also be in jeopardy of missing the Chargers' Week 11 matchup with the Bengals. If Mack can't upgrade to at least limited participation Thursday or Friday, Joey Bosa (hip) will likely see increased work as an edge rusher with the Chargers' first-team defense.

Good to go versus Titans
Mack (groin) is good to go for Sunday's matchup versus the Titans, Kris Rhim of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Mack will be able to play Sunday despite not practicing at all this week. He suffered a groin injury during last week's win over the Browns and will try to play through it against the Titans.

Questionable for Week 10
Mack (groin) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Titans.
Analysis: Mack was unable to practice all week after likely sustaining a groin injury in the Chargers' Week 9 win over the Browns. However, Friday's injury report suggests the All-Pro edge rusher still has a chance to suit up Sunday. If Mack is sidelined in Week 10, Bud Dupree will likely see increased snaps with the Chargers' first-team defense.

Doesn't practice Wednesday
Mack (groin) did not practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Mack may have picked up the injury during the Chargers' 27-10 win over the Browns this past Sunday. He'll have two more chances to return to practice this week ahead of Sunday's game against the Titans. Through the Chargers' first eight games of the regular season, Mack has logged 26 tackles (12 solo), including 4.5 sacks, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Sacks Winston in Week 9
Mack finished Sunday's 27-10 win over the Browns with four tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one forced fumble.
Analysis: Mack caused Jameis Winston to fumble the ball on a six-yard sack late in the first quarter, which the latter was able to recover. It was Mack's second straight game recording a sack, and through eight regular-season games he's up to 26 tackles (12 solo), including 4.5 sacks, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Records sack in defeat
Mack finished with five total tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, in the Chargers' 20-10 loss to the Steelers on Sunday.

Records 1.5 sacks vs. Las Vegas
Mack finished Sunday's 22-10 win over the Raiders with three tackles (one solo), including 1.5 sacks, along with one pass defended and one fumble recovery.
Analysis: Mack combined with Morgan Fox on a 12-yard sack on Gardner Minshew in the second quarter, and Mack tallied a solo four-yard sack early in the fourth frame. Minshew made an unforced fumble late in the second quarter, which Mack scooped and returned for 22 yards to set up a 25-yard field goal from Cameron Dicker four plays later. Staying put on restructured deal
Mack has agreed to a restructured contract that will keep him with the Chargers in 2024, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Los Angeles was considering moving Mack after a 17.0-sack 2023 season to free up cap space, but a restructure proved sufficient to create enough wiggle room after the Chargers saved $20 million against the cap Wednesday by releasing Mike Williams (knee). Mack's prolific production in 2023 suggests that the 2016 NFL DPOY still has plenty left in the tank heading into his age-33 campaign.

Vintage season in Los Angeles
Mack compiled 74 tackles (57 solo), 17 sacks, 10 passes defensed and five forced fumbles over 17 games with the Chargers in 2023.
Analysis: Despite losing pass-rushing partner Joey Bosa (foot) for nearly half of the season, Mack put together arguably the best campaign of his entire career, and one that probably should have elicited some All-Pro consideration. The veteran's 17 sacks surpassed his previous career high set back in 2015, and that massive figure came off the heels of a four-year stretch where Mack combined to take down the quarterback just 31.5 times. Registers sack in loss
Mack had seven tackles (five solo), including one sack, in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: Mack got to Jarrett Stidham early in the second quarter for a nine-yard sack that forced the Broncos to punt the ball on the next play. Mack broke his three-game sack drought Sunday and is up to 16.0 this season, placing him fourth in the NFL and establishing a new career high.

Yet another multi-sack performance
Mack recorded five tackles (five solo),, including two sacks and a forced fumble in Sunday's 6-0 win at New England.
Analysis: Mack managed to post two sacks for the fourth time in his last five games in Week 13, bringing his season total up to 15.0 (which ties his career high from 2015 with the Raiders). He's the league leader in sacks heading into a Week 14 matchup versus the Broncos.

Manages another multi-sack game
Mack recorded six tackles (four solo) including two sacks and a pass defensed in Sunday's 20-10 loss versus the Ravens.
Analysis: Mack's two-sack performance in Week 12 was his third such game in the last four weeks and perhaps the most impressive of the bunch considering how difficult it is to catch and bring down Lamar Jackson. Mack already has 13.0 sacks with six games left to play, making him a must-start IDP in leagues where he's eligible as a defensive lineman.

Eclipses 10 sacks on season
Mack recorded eight tackles (eight solo) including two sacks and a forced fumble in Sunday's 23-20 loss at Green Bay.
Analysis: Mack secured the fifth double-digit sack season of his career in the middle of the third quarter, and he tacked on another sack for good measure to log his third multi-sack game of the year. With 11.0 sacks to date, he's actually on pace for a career season in that department, making him a good IDP option wherever he's defensive-lineman eligible.

Two sacks in win
Mack recorded five tackles (three solo), including two sacks, while deflecting a pass and forcing a fumble in Monday night's 27-6 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Mack was able to get back into the sack column after going two weeks without a quarterback takedown, bringing down Zach Wilson twice, stripping him once. The linebacker is now up to 30 tackles, including nine sacks, while also deflecting three passes and forcing three fumbles over eight games this season.

Mack recorded four tackles (two solo), including a sack, in Monday's 20-17 loss to Dallas.
Analysis: Mack was once again able to get to the quarterback, bringing down Dak Prescott for his seventh sack of the season, all of which have come in the last two games. The linebacker has registered 23 tackles, including the seven sacks, and has deflected two passes and forced a pair of fumbles over five contests in 2023.

Nearly sets single-game sack record
Mack compiled 10 tackles (eight solo), including six sacks, and two forced fumbles in the 24-17 win over the Raiders on Sunday.
Analysis: Mack nearly won the game himself against his former team, routinely terrorizing an offensive line that had allowed just five sacks prior to Sunday. The veteran's performance is arguably more impressive because he did it without the aid of pass-rushing teammate Joey Bosa, who was held out due to a hamstring injury. Leads team in sacks
Mack recorded 50 tackles (33 solo), eight sacks, an additional four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries across 17 games in the 2022-23 season.
Analysis: In his first season with the Chargers, Mack led the team in both sacks and total tackles for loss. However, the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year failed to record double-digit sacks for the fourth straight season. While Mack may not be as dominant as he was earlier in his career, he is still a force to be reckoned with coming off the edge.

Dominates former team in win
Mack recorded six tackles (five solo), three sacks and one forced fumble during Sunday's win over the Raiders.
Analysis: Mack was dominant in his Chargers debut and harassed Derek Carr all game long. His first sack came on third down in the second quarter and forced a punt, while his second one came on first down and immediately preceded an interception. Mack's last QB takedown was a strip-sack late in the fourth quarter, sealing the win for Los Angeles.

He was officially shut down after Week 7 and underwent season-ending surgery in November. Despite being hampered by the injury, Mack was still able to tally six sacks in seven games. Mack (foot) restructured his contract with the Chargers on Friday to clear up $9 million in cap space, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Mack has agreed to convert $13.5 million of his 2022 salary into a signing bonus, a move which helps his new team free up a significant amount of additional cap space. The star pass rusher, whose 2021 campaign ended early due to foot surgery, could be primed for a resurgence while lining up alongside Joey Bosa in the 2022 season.

Traded to Chargers
The Bears are slated to trade Mack (foot) to the Chargers in exchange for a 2022 second-round draft pick along with a 2023 sixth-rounder, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The deal, which is in line to become official next week, will provide the Chargers' pass rush (which also features Joey Bosa) with a huge boost heading into the 2022 campaign. Mack, who landed on IR last November due to a foot injury that required surgery, finished up his last season with Chicago with 19 tackles and six sacks over the course of seven games.

Mack underwent season-ending foot surgery and was placed on injured reserve Nov. 19 after recording 19 tackles and six sacks over seven games.
Analysis: Mack had missed just two games through his first seven years in the NFL, and he should have enough time to recover and rehab before the 2022 season. He'll turn 31 in February, and his six-year contract extension has three seasons (but no guaranteed money) remaining.

Chance to return Sunday
Coach Matt Nagy said Monday that he's "hoping" Mack (foot) will be able to return for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Analysis: Mack has missed the last two games with a foot injury, but it's encouraging that Nagy didn't immediately rule him out following the Bears' Week 10 bye. Prior to his injury, the 30-year-old racked up 19 tackles (15 solo), six sacks and a fumble recovery across the first seven games of the season.

Not playing Monday
Mack (foot) has been ruled out for Monday's game at Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Mack suffered a foot injury Week 3 but was able to power through it four four consecutive contests. Notably, he also put together a five-game stretch in which he recorded at least one sack per game Weeks 2 through 6. But he'll now take a seat for a second straight outing, which may be an intentional decision by the Bears with a Week 10 bye on tap. Mack's next chance to play will arrive Sunday, Nov. 21 against the Ravens.

Mack (foot) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice.
Analysis: The 30-year-old was inactive for what was the Bears' first practice of the week, prior to meeting the Steelers on Monday night. Mack's absence comes as no surprise, as he has appeared on the injury report for many weeks now with the nagging foot injury. He missed the team's Week 8 matchup with the 49ers, his first missed contest of the year, and his status is worth monitoring in the coming days. Despite the injury, the star pass rusher has been able to notch six sacks through seven games this season. Mack (foot) won't play in Sunday's game against San Francisco, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Mack's absence comes as no surprise considering it was made known earlier in the week that the team's considering placing him on IR to allow his nagging foot injury to heal. He has persevered through the injury up to this point and performed admirably, notching six sacks through seven games, but Mack will endure his first absence of the season against the 49ers. Mack notched a sack and four tackles in the Bears' 24-14 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: After averaging 1.5 tackles over the first four games of the season, Mack has 12 over his last two games, and if that continues, it will significantly raise his weekly scoring floor. Despite the light on-field work leading into the contest, Mack looks like he'll be ready to go against his former team. After being listed as questionable ahead of last week's win over Detroit, Mack ultimately suited up and registered a sack and fumble recovery.

Questionable after limited practice
Mack (ribs/foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Analysis: Mack's no stranger to carrying questionable tags into games, and the oft-injured defensive star is now battling a rib injury in addition to the foot issue that has plagued him throughout the season. He missed practice Wednesday and Thursday before practicing on a limited basis Friday. Mack followed the same schedule last week against the Lions and was ultimately able to play.

Mack recovered a fumble while recording a sack and a tackle in the Bears' 24-14 win over the Lions on Sunday.
Analysis: Mack has now posted four sacks over the last three games, but with just six tackles to date, he's looking like an IDP who'll remain dependent upon sacks for his production.

Mack (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions.
Analysis: Mack finally got in a limited practice Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday, giving him some hope of being able to suit up come game day. Mack collected a sack and two tackles in the Bears' 20-17 win over the Bengals on Sunday.
Analysis: For the second week in a row, Mack had two or fewer tackles, but he was able to tally his first sack of the campaign. After posting between 47 and 50 tackles in each of the last three seasons, if he doesn't boost his tackle totals soon, his fantasy scoring floor could be lower than it has been at any time in his career.

Registers ninth sack of season
Mack tallied a sack and four tackles in Chicago's 35-16 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: The 50 tackles Mack had was his highest in three years with the Bears, though he's posted between 47 and 50 tackles in each of those seasons. He's also had two straight seasons with fewer than 10 sacks, and although he's still an amazing NFL player, his IDP value is limited in leagues in which he's listed as a linebacker. After the team completes its playoff run, he'll enter the fourth year of a seven-year deal and likely will maintain similar fantasy value that he's had the past couple seasons.

Mack (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Packers.

Reps limited Thursday
Mack (shoulder) was held to limited participation during the Bears' practice session Thursday.
Analysis: There's no great concern just yet regarding the three-time All-Pro's potential Week 17 availability, as he has frequently had his practice reps managed throughout the 2020 campaign. Last week alone, Mack submitted a full session Wednesday before being listed as a DNP and a limited participant the subsequent two practices. Mack hasn't missed a contest all season, and it's possible Chicago is merely managing its star defender's workload heading into a vital Week 17 matchup against the Packers.

Mack recorded half a sack and three tackles in Chicago's 33-27 victory over the Vikings on Sunday.

Mack (shoulder) is active Week 15 against the Vikings.

Questionable for divisional tilt
Mack (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Vikings.
Analysis: Mack followed a FP/DNP/LP practice regimen this week. The dominant pass rusher rarely misses time, and with a limited session to end the week, he seems to be on the right track for a must-win divisional contest Sunday. Mack has 1.5 sacks over his past three matchups against the Vikings.

Mack intercepted a pass and tallied three stops in the Bears' 19-13 loss to the Vikings on Monday.
Analysis: Although Mack has posted between two and five tackles in each game this season, he's been a fantastic playmaker with 6.5 sacks, a pair of forced fumbles and now an interception. Mack recorded one tackle in the Bears' 21-19 victory over the Vikings in Week 17, and he concluded the season with 47 tackles 8.5 sacks and five forced fumbles.
Analysis: Aside from his rookie season in 2014, this is the first time that Mack posted fewer than 10.5 sacks in a season. In addition, he tied his career-low in tackles, which he set last season. Mack recorded a sack and three tackles in Chicago's 19-14 victory over the Giants on Sunday.
Analysis: Mack collected his first sack in four weeks and now has 6.5 on the season. In addition, he's only surpassed four tackles a single time since Week 1. Since he's moved to the linebacker position in IDP leagues, Mack is no longer the elite fantasy producer we've seen in the past, though he possesses multi-sack upside every week.
