Let go by Baltimore
The Ravens waived Jackson on Saturday.
Analysis: Jackson was a healthy scratch for Week 9 against the Broncos, and after playing in Week 10, he was ruled out for Week 11 against the Steelers due to personal reasons. The eighth-year safety out of Alabama has posted 30 tackles (18 solo) and one pass defense over nine regular-season games. Should he clear waivers, Jackson will look to catch on with a team in need of veteran depth in the secondary.

Ruled out for Week 11
Jackson (personal) will not travel with the Ravens to Pittsburgh and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: It's been a bumpy last couple of weeks for Jackson, who was a healthy scratch in Week 9 against the Broncos after playing all 66 defensive snaps in Week 8 against the Browns, during which he logged a season-high 10 tackles (eight solo) and one pass defense. He returned for Week 10 against the Bengals, though he played just 14 snaps on defense and did not record a tackle. Jackson's next chance to suit up will be Week 11 against the Chargers on Monday, Nov. 25. Ar'Darius Washington will serve as…read more

Healthy scratch Week 9
Jackson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's contest against Denver, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Analysis: Jackson started and played every defensive snap last Sunday versus Cleveland, but he dropped multiple potential interceptions and was burned in coverage, leading to his inactive status this Sunday. Marcus Williams didn't see the field last week, but he's active against the Broncos and will presumably start at safety. The Ravens' secondary will also get a boost by the return of Marlon Humphrey, who sat out last week due to a knee injury.

Plays every snap in loss
Jackson recorded 10 tackles (six solo) and a pass defensed during Sunday's 29-24 loss at Cleveland.
Analysis: Jackson had rotated in and out of action for the entire year leading up to Week 8, but he was on the field for all of the Ravens' 66 defensive snaps Sunday, and he unsurprisingly set a new season high in the tackle department for himself. Whether he plays a similar role in Week 9 versus the Broncos might depend on the health of Marlon Humphrey (knee).

Departs from Chicago
Jackson was released by the Bears on Thursday.
Analysis: Jackson posted a career-low 37 total tackles in 2023, his seventh NFL season, all with Chicago. The 30-year-old made the Pro Bowl in 2018 and 2019 and was well on his way to another successful season in 2022 before suffering a season-ending foot injury Week 12. The veteran safety will now have an opportunity to seek a career resurgence elsewhere ahead of the 2024 season.

Finishes worst season of career
Jackson collected six tackles in the Bears' 17-9 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: Jackson posted the best stats of his career on a per-game basis in 2022, but he followed that up with the the least productive campaign of his seven-year career. For the second year in a row, he missed five games after never missing more than three games in any of his first five years. On the season, Jackson recorded 37 tackles and an interception. Going into the last year of his contract in his age-30 season, it's unlikely Jackson will be highly coveted in 2024 IDP drafts.

First interception of season
Jackson intercepted a pass and recorded three tackles in the Bears' 20-17 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
Analysis: Jackson hasn't been a reliable IDP this year, as he has three or fewer tackles in five of eight games played. His season-long performance makes it seem as if he'll remain a low-floor, low-ceiling IDP option over the last few weeks of the season.

Available Sunday
Jackson (foot) is available for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Analysis: Jackson has missed four of the last five games due to his foot injury, but he'll be able to suit up in prime time Sunday. Over three appearances this season, he's tallied five tackles (three solo) and two pass defenses.

Questionable for Sunday at Chargers
Jackson (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at the Chargers, Adam Jahns of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Jackson is in danger of missing his fifth game of the season in Week 8 as he tends to a lingering foot injury. If he's sidelined, 2022 seventh-rounder Elijah Hicks would be in line for an expanded role in Chicago's defensive backfield.

Won't play vs. Raiders

Not practicing Thursday
Jackson (foot) did not participate in Thursday's practice, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Jackson left last week's contest against Tampa Bay with a foot injury, but at the time, the issue wasn't considered to be serious by head coach Matt Eberflus. The 29-year-old went from limited participation in Wednesday's practice to a DNP on Thursday, and it seems as if his availability for Sunday's game against Las Vegas could be up in the air.

Limited at Wednesday's practice
Jackson (foot) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Coach Matt Eberflus downplayed Jackson's injury following Sunday's loss versus the Vikings, so it's possible Chicago is just giving him extra rest. In any case, he'll probably need to log a full practice Thursday or Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into the weekend.

Injury may not be serious
Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said after Sunday's loss to Minnesota that Jackson (foot) could have returned to the contest if needed, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Jackson injured his foot in the first half of Sunday's defeat and did not return. However, Eberflus said after the game that the safety could have reentered the contest if an injury to another player created a need, so the team may have been playing it cautious. Jackson missed the previous three weeks with a foot issue, though it's not yet certain if Sunday's injury was related.

Exits with foot issue
Jackson (foot) is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against Minnesota, Patrick Finley of The Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Analysis: Jackson hadn't played since Chicago's Week 2 game against the Buccaneers, as he was recovering from a foot issue. He may have re-injured it this Sunday, but it's currently unclear which foot it is. Elijah Hicks is the next man up at free safety for the Bears if the 29-year-old is unable to return.

Good to go Sunday
Jackson (foot) is active for Sunday's matchup against the Vikings.
Analysis: Jackson has missed three straight contests, but he'll return to action for a divisional matchup versus Minnesota after logging limited practices throughout Week 6 prep. It's possible Jackson will be on a snap count following a lengthy absence, but the Bears will presumably take as many plays as they can get from their stud safety.

Questionable for divisional clash
Jackson (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus Minnesota.
Analysis: Jackson has missed Chicago's last three contests, but he gave himself a chance to suit up in Week 6 by managing limited practices throughout the week. If he sits out again, 2022 seventh-rounder Elijah Hicks will likely draw another start at safety Sunday.

Will remain out
Jackson (foot) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Commanders.

Could return this week
Jackson (foot) is planning to play Thursday against the Commanders, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Jackson hasn't played since suffering the injury in Week 2 and still wasn't practicing toward the end of last week either. However, when asked if the plan was to return as soon as Thursday, Jackson stated, "That's the plan. Right now, day by day. I'm feeling a lot better, so that's the plan." Jackson (foot) will not travel with the Bears for their Week 3 matchup against the Chiefs, Chris Emma of 670TheScore.com reports.

Doubtful for Week 3
Jackson (foot) did not participate at practice Friday and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game at Kansas City, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: After he was carted off the field in Week 2 and missed practice during the week, it's actually somewhat surprising Jackson hasn't already been ruled out for Week 3 entirely. Coach Matt Eberflus said Monday that he's "not sure where it's going to trend this week" regarding the foot injury Jackson sustained in Week 2, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Won't return Sunday
Jackson (foot) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Jackson was carted off the field after suffering a foot injury, so it's not surprising to see him quickly downgraded to out. Jaquan Brisker (illness) also left the game early, so Elijah Hicks and Quindell Johnson are candidates for increased roles the rest of the way. It's worth noting that Jackson missed five weeks last season due to a Lisfranc injury to the same foot, but it's unclear if the two injuries are related.

Suffers foot injury against Bucs
Jackson injured his foot against Tampa Bay on Sunday and is questionable to return.
Analysis: Jackson exited in the first half and was subsequently carted off with his leg propped up, per Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com. It's notable that the injury is to his left foot, as the defensive back missed five weeks last season due to a Lisfranc injury to the same foot. Fellow safety Jaquan Brisker also exited Sunday due to an illness. Elijah Hicks and Quindell Johnson have taken over against the Buccaneers in the absence of Chicago's starters.

Analysis: The veteran safety out of Alabama is back to full participation after being limited Wednesday with an ankle injury. Analysis: Jackson has been nursing an undisclosed injury for about a week, but it looks like the issue was not too serious. Analysis: There's no word on what prevented Jackson from taking part in the practice session, though Bears head coach Matt Eberflus indicated that the veteran safety is not dealing with a serious injury and is present with the team in Indianapolis. Jackson didn't play after Week 12 last season due to a foot injury, but he's reportedly recovered from that issue and is expected to be Chicago's starting free safety in 2023.

Firm hold on starting job
Jackson has no real competition for the Bears' starting free safety role, Adam Jahns of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Jackson appears to have shaken off the foot injury that landed him on injured reserve after Week 12 of the 2022 season. With the Bears having installed a new defense last year, Jackson's four interceptions was his highest total since 2018. He's free to roam and make plays in the defense, making him a strong IDP option.

Back practicing again
Jackson (foot) participated in practice Wednesday at OTAs, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Per Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Jackson took part in all individual drills and got in a few team reps, as well. The Bears will presumably ease the safety back to 100 percent participation to avoid a setback, but he sounds close to putting last season's Lisfranc injury behind him. Jackson (foot) began running three weeks ago, according to Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune.
Analysis: Jackson battled various nicks and dings last season, missing five games, but his season ended for good after Week 12 due to a Lisfranc injury. He didn't require surgery to fix the issue and still isn't back to 100 percent, but Jackson appears to be trending in the right direction ahead of OTAs. Ends season on injured reserve
Johnson (foot) ended the season with 35 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery over 11 games.
Analysis: Johnson (finger/ribs) was placed on injured reserve after Week 15 and played 11 games. He failed to intercept a pass, and he has just one pick during his three years in the league. As a tackler, he averaged 3.2 per game, though his game-to-game production was inconsistent. Unless his situation changes next year, he'll be a moderate-floor, low-upside IDP option. No surgery needed
Jackson (foot) announced Friday via his personal Twitter account that he won't need surgery.
Analysis: Jackson was placed on injured reserve at the end of November due to a Lisfranc injury and is expected to miss the rest of the 2022 campaign. Jackson (foot) could require surgery to address his Lisfranc injury, Adam Hoge of AllCHGO.com reports.
Analysis: Jackson was placed on injured reserve Tuesday and is expected to miss the rest of the season, but if surgery is deemed necessary, his availability for OTAs this spring could also be in jeopardy. The veteran safety had enjoyed a resurgent sixth season in the NFL before he suffered the non-contact foot injury in last week's loss to the Jets. The Bears fear Jackson (foot) suffered a Lisfranc injury during Sunday's loss to the Jets, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Jackson was carted to the locker room after doing down on the field during Sunday's loss, and he's now considered out indefinitely while undergoing more tests. Analysis: Jackson had trouble getting off the field after suffering the injury and was ultimately carted to the locker room. Analysis: Jackson tied rookie cornerback Kyler Gordon for the Bears' third-most tackles Week 11. The veteran safety also logged his first pass defended that was not an interception of the season, and he has now played every defensive snap in all but of two games in 2022. Jackson collected nine stops in the Bears' 27-10 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: While the Packers were running the ball at will on the Bears, Jackson was heavily involved as a tackler, resulting in his second-highest tackle total of the past two years. Playing alongside rookie safety Jaquan Brisker has seemed to elevate Jackson's performance, making him a strong player to add in IDP leagues in which he's not rostered.

Picks off pass
Jackson intercepted a pass and posted three tackles in the Bears' 19-10 win over the 49ers on Sunday.
Analysis: With Jackson having rookie cornerback Jaquan Brisker helping more in run support, Jackson was freed up in pass coverage. As a result, he was able to roam the middle of the field, allowing him to pick off an errant pass from Trey Lance. If Jackson can create takeaways like he did during his first two years in the league, he could become a strong IDP contributor.

Jackson is one five safeties on the Bears' regular-season roster,
Analysis: Jackson will team up with rookie Jaquan Brisker as the starting safeties in coach Matt Eberflus' defensive system. Although Jackson has had the highest tackle totals of his career in each of the last two years, the hope is that the presence of Brisker allows Jackson to roam more so that he can try to create big plays. Jackson playing in a heavy-zone defense may help him re-emerge as a defensive leader on the Bears Gene Chamberlain of SI.com reports.
Analysis: After recording eight interceptions and scoring five touchdowns in his first two years in the league, Jackson has recorded just two interceptions and one touchdown in the last three seasons. The new defense is expected to let him fly around the field and try to make plays, opposed to being left regularly in coverage, which hasn't been his area of strength. Moderate outing in finale
Jackson posted five tackles in the Bears' 31-17 Week 18 loss to the Vikings, and he ended the season with 76 stops.
Analysis: On a per-game basis, Jackson posted the most tackles of his five-year career, but for the second year in a row, he failed to post an interception or a sack. Unless he can make a drastic return to his playmaking days of his first two seasons in the league, he'll merely be a solid-floor IDP. He's signed with the Bears through the 2024 season, and he'll be expected to remain the starter at free safety.

Regardless of whether he tested positive or was just a close contact, Jackson will have the potential to suit up for Monday's game against Minnesota. His potential activation would provide a big boost to the Bears' defense, as Jackson has been on the field for 100 percent of defensive snaps in all but one contest this season.

Jackson notched nine tackles in the Bears' 45-30 loss to the Packers on Sunday.

Jackson had five tackles (four solo) during Sunday's 33-22 loss to the Cardinals.

Jackson (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Ravens.
Analysis: Coming off the bye week, Jackson was able to log limited practice sessions Thursday and Friday, but that won't be enough to clear him for Week 11. Questionable Sunday
Jackson (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: Jackson didn't practice Wednesday but logged limited sessions over the last two days, so he has a strong chance of featuring this week against Baltimore. The former Alabama standout had played 100 percent of the snaps prior to suffering an injury against the 49ers in Week 8, and if he can't go, then Marqui Christian would operate as his replacement.

Could return against Ravens
Coach Matt Nagy said Monday that he's "hoping" Jackson (hamstring) will be able to return Sunday against the Ravens, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Analysis: Jackson was inactive for the Bears' loss to the Steelers due to his hamstring injury but has a chance to return following the team's Week 10 bye. Jackson returned a fumble for a touchdown while recording nine tackles in Chicago's 24-10 loss to the Rams on Monday.
Analysis: Jackson was all over the field making tackles, and in the fourth quarter, his aggressiveness had him in the right place at the right time, as he scooped up a fumble and took it to the house. Actually, he's found the end zone three times this year, but the first two times it happened, penalties overturned the scores. Jackson recorded eight tackles in Chicago's 17-13 win over the Giants on Sunday.
Analysis: After returning an interception for an apparent touchdown, Jackson's celebration was terminated after he was flagged for defensive pass interference on the play. Despite the penalty, the big play that was negated reminds fantasy managers of the big-play ability Jackson possesses. Otherwise, the eight tackles he posted was a higher total than he posted in 14 of 16 games last season. In IDP leagues, Jackson is a volatile performer who possesses big weekly upside.

Analysis: Jackson's contract includes $22 million fully guaranteed and $33 million in total guarantees, and his $14.6 million average annual salary is the highest among players at his position. He's been one of the top safeties in the league since the Bears selected him in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, so it makes sense for the team to lock him up for the foreseeable future. Posts second interception of season
Jackson picked off a pass and added a pair of tackles in the Bears' 21-19 victory over the Vikings in Week 17, and he finished the season with 60 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and two interceptions.
Analysis: Jackson continues to be a solid IDP option, but he's failed to match the impact of his 2017 rookie campaign in either of the last two seasons. As he enters the last year of his contract with the Bears, he'll provide fantasy owners with a stable floor, but unless he can return to his rookie form, he may not be the elite fantasy option that many expected him to be.

Analysis: After establishing himself as an elite playmaker during 2018, Jackson counts only Thursday's interception and a forced fumble earlier in the season as his only true impact plays of the current campaign.
