Activated from COVID-19 list
The Cardinals activated Vallejo (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.
Analysis: Vallejo can now return to team facilities and begin preparing for Monday's playoff matchup against the Rams. He projects to handle his usual role on special teams, while also providing depth at linebacker.

Enters COVID protocols
Vallejo was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. This was the result of testing positive for the virus, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Analysis: Vallejo returned Sunday against Dallas after a six-week absence due to a knee injury. Now Vallejo is in danger of missing the Cardinals' Week 18 matchup with the Seahawks. When healthy he has provided depth at linebacker and worked on special teams, roles to which he'll work to return, if he can clear protocols in time.

Activated, should return Sunday
Vallejo (knee) mwas activated from the IR/designated for return list Saturday.
Analysis: Vallejo hasn't played since Week 10 and the injury couldn't have come at a worse time for him, as he was starting to earn a bigger role on defense. He should be available for Arizona's final two games of the regular season, but it remains to be seen what kind of role he'll have.

Designated to return
Vallejo (knee) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday.
Analysis: Vallejo had been on injured reserve since Nov. 20, but he'll be eligible to participate in Wednesday's practice. Whether he's available for the final two games of the regular season remains to be seen, but he appears to be trending toward a return.

Heads to IR
Vallejo (knee) was put on injured reserve Saturday.
Analysis: Vallejo had already been ruled out of Week 11 but now gets several weeks to fully recover. Joe Walker and Tahir Whitehead both joined the active roster Saturday and could absorb the 26-year-old's vacated snaps.

Won't feature Sunday
Vallejo (knee) is out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, according to Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site.
Analysis: Vallejo didn't play in Week 6 against Cleveland but logged at least 35 percent of the snaps in each of his last three games. However, he's been ruled out against the Seahawks and will miss his second game of the campaign. The former Boise State standout has not played more than 50 percent of the snaps in any single contest, though, so his absence shouldn't affect Arizona's defensive plan considerably.

Expects to be available Thursday
Vallejo (hand) recorded a full practice Wednesday and is expected to be available for the Cardinals' Week 8 contest with the Packers on Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Vallejo was forced to miss the Cardinals' Week 6 game with the Browns as his hand injury was just starting to bother him. The linebacker managed to play in Week 7 against the Texans as he recorded a season-high number of defensive snaps (10). Expect Vallejo to be able to play against the Packers on Thursday night.

Questionable for Week 7
Vallejo (hand) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Texans.
Analysis: Vallejo missed Week 6 with the hand injury and was a limited participant during every practice this week. The 26-year-old linebacker has played mainly on special teams this year, so if he is unable to suit up Sunday it shouldn't have an effect on Arizona's defensive rotations.

Unavailable Sunday
Vallejo (hand) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Analysis: Vallejo has played mainly on special teams this year, but he apparently sustained a hand injury in Sunday's win over the 49ers. He was unable to practice this week, and his absence for Sunday's Week 6 matchup shouldn't have a significant impact on the team's defensive plans.

Two more years in Arizona
Vallejo agreed Wednesday with the Cardinals on a two-year, $4.2 million contract, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The Cardinals were Vallejo's fourth NFL team since he entered the league as a sixth-round pick in 2017. The Boise State product finally carved out a role this past season, as he finished second on the team with 10 special-teams tackles through 16 games. Vallejo also managed to record 16 tackles and a sack over 95 defensive snaps.

Done for season
Vallejo (ribs) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

Sustains rib injury
Vallejo was forced out of Sunday's game against the Browns with a rib injury, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Vallejo was promoted from the practice squad ahead of Week 14's loss to the Steelers, where he made five solo tackles and a sack. The third-year linebacker generated two solo stops before leaving this contest. Vallejo works in a reserve role, and his practice status will be monitored leading up to Week 16's game against the Seahawks.

Promoted from practice squad
Vallejo was promoted to the Cardinals' 53-man roster Wednesday.
Analysis: Vallejo spent training camp with the Cardinals, but he was waived and picked up by the Redskins before being waived again in mid-November. The 24-year-old exclusively played special teams with Washington and could fill a similar role in the desert.

Let go by Redskins
Vallejo was waived by the Redskins on Saturday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Vallejo was primarily a special teams contributor for the Redskins, but he was let go in order for the team to add additional depth at wide receiver. He is a candidate to land back on the practice squad, assuming he clears waivers.
