Sees first preseason action
Lawrence didn't notch any tackles but deflected a pass in Saturday's preseason loss against Houston.
Analysis: Lawrence didn't play in the Giants' preseason opener last week versus Detroit, so this was his first chance to shake off any offseason rust in game action. He made an impressive play in the first quarter, batting down a C.J. Stroud pass attempt on fourth down to shut down a potential scoring drive. Lawrence is one of the league's top defensive linemen and will lead a New York pass rush that could be very formidable with the offseason addition of Brian Burns.

Clears cap space with restructure
Lawrence agreed Thursday to restructure his contract with the Giants, creating $7.5 million in cap space for the team, Darryl Slater of NJ.com reports.
Analysis: New York converted $10 million of Lawrence's base salary into a signing bonus, and pushed $7.5 million of that total into future years to create extra cap space. Last season Lawrence earned second-team All-Pro honors after notching 53 tackles and 4.5 sacks. He's entering the second season of a four-year, $87.5 million contract extension inked last May.

Enjoys All-Pro campaign in 2023
Lawrence finished the regular season with 53 tackles (32 solo), including 4.5 sacks, over 16 games.
Analysis: Lawrence didn't stuff the stat sheet, and his numbers were lower across the board in comparison to his 2022 campaign, but his impact on New York's defense continued to be as enormous as his physical stature. For his excellence, the fifth-year nose tackle earned his second straight selection as both a Pro Bowler and an AP Second Team All-Pro. The Giants appear wise to have inked Lawrence to a four-year extension last May, as he's set to anchor the team's defensive front for years to come.

Ready for Sunday
Lawrence (hamstring) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Rams, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: The All-Pro defensive tackle had been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury, but it seems that he's had enough time to move past the issue. Lawrence has recorded 50 total tackles, including 4.5 sacks, through 14 games this season, and he'll look to cause problems for a red-hot Rams offense in Week 17.

Practices in limited fashion
Lawrence (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Lawrence was able to play through his hamstring issue in Week 16, but this injury still seems to be hindering the 26-year-old. Despite being able to up his participation Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's session, the All-Pro defensive tackle could very well carry an injury designation into the weekend if he doesn't practice in full Friday.

Still dealing with hamstring injury
Lawrence (hamstring) did not participate at the Giants' walkthrough practice Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Lawrence was able to play through his hamstring issue Monday, so any limitations at this point may be maintenance-related. Either way, he'll likely need to practice in full Thursday or Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into the weekend.

Good to go
Lawrence (hamstring) is active for Monday's matchup against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Lawrence will play in a third straight game after missing the Giants' Week 12 win over the Patriots. He's been limited over the last two games, playing 28 and 26 defensive snaps, respectively, while totaling five tackles (one solo), including half a sack.

Questionable for Monday
Lawrence (hamstring) is listed as questionable ahead of Monday's game against the Eagles, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Lawrence has been able to suit up the past two weeks after missing the Giants' Week 12 win over the Patriots, but his hamstring issue still seems to be lingering and he's listed as questionable for Monday's contest. If the All-Pro defensive tackle is unable to suit up in Week 16, expect Jordon Riley to see increased work on New York's defensive line.

Sidelined to start week
Lawrence (hamstring) is not practicing Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Lawrence has been dealing with a lingering hamstring issue for multiple weeks now but has played in each of the Giants' last two games, which bodes well for his potential availability Week 16 against the Eagles. However, the 2019 first-round selection will likely need to get back on the practice field ahead of Monday's game to suit up for the contest.

Suiting up versus New Orleans
Lawrence (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Saints, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Lawrence was a limited participant in practice all week and will be good to go for Sunday's contest. He has 44 tackles (25 solo), including 4.5 sacks, in 12 games this year, though he played a season-low 28 defensive snaps in Week 14 against the Packers while playing through a hamstring issue.

Questionable for Sunday at Saints
Lawrence (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at New Orleans, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Lawrence was able to play through his hamstring injury Monday versus the Packers, so he should be considered to be on the 'probable' end of the questionable designation. If he can't go, Rakeem Nunez-Roches will be in line to see an expanded role.

Considered limited Wednesday
Lawrence (hamstring) was considered to be a limited participant at the Giants' walkthrough Wednesday.
Analysis: Lawrence was able to play through his hamstring injury in Monday's win over the Packers, recording three tackles, including a half-sack, in the contest. He'll look to increase his workload at practice before the end of the week prior to Sunday's matchup with the Saints.

Suiting up versus Green Bay
Lawrence (hamstring) is active versus the Packers on Monday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Lawrence is set to return to action after missing the team's Week 12 victory over the Patriots with a hamstring injury. The 2019 first-round pick will now look to help the Giants slow down AJ Dillon and the rest of Green Bay's offense.

Questionable for MNF
Lawrence (hamstring) has been listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Packers, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: Lawrence sustained a hamstring injury in Week 11 against the Commanders and wasn't able to play the following week. The Giants are coming off their bye week and Lawrence was able to log limited practice sessions Thursday and Friday, giving him a fair shot of returning for Monday's game. The 2019 first-round pick has 41 tackles (25 solo), including four sacks, in 11 games this season.

Limited work Thursday
Lawrence (hamstring) was estimated as a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: The 2019 first-round pick still seems to be working back from the hamstring injury that he suffered late in the Giants' Week 11 win over the Commanders. Luckily for Lawrence, New York doesn't play until Monday night, so the 26-year-old nose tackle still has two more practice sessions before Week 14's contest. Unless Lawrence is able to log a full practice Friday or Saturday, he'll likely carry an injury designation into Monday night's affair.

Still not practicing
Lawrence (hamstring) will not practice Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Lawrence was unable to practice Tuesday and still appears to be suffering from the injury he suffered in Week 11 against the Commanders. With the Giants not playing until Monday against the Packers, the Clemson product will have three more chances to get on the field and practice in some capacity to increase his chances of suiting up in Week 14.

Won't play Sunday
Lawrence (hamstring) is inactive Sunday against the Patriots, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Lawrence came into the day doubtful, so this was the likeliest scenario for the Clemson product. He'll work to return after the team's bye week against the Packers on Dec. 11.

Doubtful for Sunday
Lawrence (hamstring) is listed as doubtful ahead of Sunday's game against the Patriots, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Lawrence told reporters that he hurt his hamstring during Isaiah Simmons' pick-six during the Giants' Week 11 win over the Commanders, and it's been getting better day-by-day, per Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post. The All-Pro defensive tackle was unable to practice all week, making it unlikely that he's able to suit up for Week 12. Jordon Riley is the next man up at nose tackle for the Giants if Lawrence can't go Sunday.

Sitting out again
Lawrence (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Lawrence has yet to practice this week and will likely need to get on the field Friday to increase his chances of suiting up against the Patriots on Sunday. The Clemson product has yet to miss a game this season, and his potential absence would be a blow to the interior of the team's defensive line.

Disruptive in Week 7 win
Lawrence racked up six tackles (two solo), including two sacks, in Sunday's 14-7 win against Washington.
Analysis: The Giants put Commanders QB Sam Howell under heavy pressure early, and Lawrence led the way with 1.5 first-half sacks. The veteran nose tackle added another half-sack in the third period, finishing with two sacks after entering the contest with none through his first six games of the campaign. Lawrence recorded a career-best 7.5 sacks last season, and he'll look to build on Sunday's strong performance to get closer to that mark in Week 8 against the Jets.

Compiles four tackles in loss
Lawrence recorded four tackles (one solo) in the Giants' 40-0 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Lawrence was unable to make a huge impact in Week 1, but the nose tackle is coming off of an impressive campaign in 2022 where he compiled 68 tackles, including a career-high 7.5 sacks. He'll look to be more involved in Week 2 versus the Cardinals.

Nabs two tackles in preseason game
Lawrence recorded two tackles (both solo) in a win over the Panthers in an exhibition contest Friday.
Analysis: Lawrence didn't play in the Giants' preseason opener last week but got some reps in Friday's victory. The star defensive tackle is coming off a breakout 2022 campaign during which he recorded career-high marks in tackles (68) and sacks (7.5) while being named both an All-Pro and a Pro-Bowler. Lawrence should be a force on the Giants' defensive front again this year and is a viable option in fantasy leagues that include IDPs.

Inks four-year extension
Lawrence has agreed to a four-year, $90 million contract extension with the Giants that includes $60 million guaranteed, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Per Schefter, the deal makes Lawrence the third highest-paid defensive tackle in the NFL. The 2019 first-rounder is coming off a 2022 campaign in which he notched 68 tackles and 7.5 sacks in 16 games, and now that the 25-year-old's contract situation has been settled, Lawrence is set to continue in his key role as a starter along the Giants' defensive line.

Won't report for start of OTAs
Lawrence isn't expected to report for the beginning of the Giants' offseason program Monday as he seeks a resolution to his contract situation, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Lawrence is coming off a season-high 7.5 sacks and his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2022, but he remains without a long-term deal. The Giants selected him in the first round of the NFL Draft in 2019 and have watched him blossom into one of the league's top defensive tackles, and Lawrence is now entering his fifth season with the club. Paces team with 7.5 sacks
Lawrence totaled 68 tackles (35 solo), including 7.5 sacks, along with two forced fumbles and three pass defenses across 16 games during the regular season.
Analysis: Lawrence's 825 defensive snaps on the campaign were a career high, as was his team-leading sack total. The fourth-year pro played in every game for New York from Week 1 to Week 17 before resting for the season finale ahead of what will be his first career playoff game. Lawrence made the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro team for the first time this season and is on the books for $12.4 million in 2023, though New York will likely explore a contract extension for arguably its best defensive player.

Notches sixth sack
Lawrence finished Sunday's 20-20 tie with Washington with nine tackles (four solo), including one sack.
Analysis: Lawrence tied for second on the Giants with nine stops in the contest and got to Taylor Heinicke on a third-and-13 early in the fourth quarter. The sack pushed the Commanders back six yards, and Joey Slye's subsequent field-goal attempt from 52 yards out missed wide right. Lawrence has already set a career high with six sacks on the season.

Lawrence (back) totaled seven tackles (three solo) and one quarterback hit in Sunday's 31-18 loss to the Lions.
Analysis: Lawrence's practice reps were capped throughout the week, but he suited up Sunday and didn't appear to be limited while setting a new season high in tackles. His strong play has been instrumental to New York's 7-3 start, as Lawrence has totaled 40 tackles and five sacks.

Week 11 status uncertain
Lawrence (back) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After missing Wednesday's session to open Week 11 prep due to a back issue, Lawrence returned in a limited fashion in each of Thursday's and Friday's practices. The 25-year-old is currently at risk of being sidelined for his first game of the season, and if that's eventually the case, then Justin Ellis would be in line to serve as the Giants' starting defensive tackle Sunday versus Detroit.

Dominates Houston in victory
Lawrence posted five tackles (one solo) and one sack Sunday in a 24-16 win over the Texans in Week 10.
Analysis: Lawrence gave Houston's offensive line a major headache Sunday, as he racked up five quarterback hits and was constantly in the backfield. His five tackles tied a season high, and he's racked up at least one sack in four of his past six games. Notches another sack
Lawrence tallied five tackles (four solo), including one sack, in New York's 27-22 win over Green Bay in London on Sunday.
Analysis: Lawrence's sack was a big one, as it came on a third-and-eight play from the Giants' 36 yard line. The Packers were up by a touchdown at the time, and the takedown knocked them out of field-goal range. Lawrence has tallied three sacks over his past two contests, allowing him to already surpass the total of 2.5 sacks he posted last season.

Lawrence registered five tackles, including two sacks, along with three quarterback hits in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Bears.
Analysis: Lawrence was a major factor in New York's ability to stifle Chicago's passing game, as he was constantly applying pressure from the interior. He's played well all season but didn't yet have a sack until he notched two of them Sunday. With the big performance, he's already halfway to the career-high total of four sacks that he posted in 2020.

Lawrence tallied seven tackles (four solo) and a sack in the 37-21 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.

Analysis: Lawrence put up career-high numbers across the boar, despite playing over 50 defensive snaps less than he did as a rookie in 2019.
