Analysis: For the second consecutive week, quarterback Carson Wentz struggled badly, taking far too many hits and displaying scattershot accuracy. McLaurin's abilities are well documented and rarely are his struggles his fault, but he really needs Wentz and the Washington offensive line to get its act together. The good news is that Washington plays Tennessee in Week 5, and its pass rush should prove less threatening than those of the Eagles and Cowboys over the last two weeks.

Gets going late

McLaurin caught six passes for 102 yards on nine targets against Philadelphia on Sunday.

Analysis: Carson Wentz struggled to complete passes most of the day as the Philadelphia pass rush rattled the Washington offense, and McLaurin failed to draw viable targets for most of that time. McLaurin is one of the league's most unique big-play threats, though, and he's capable of doing fast damage after a cold stretch. After increasing his yardage total from 58 to 75 to 102 over his first three games, the speedster could be closing in on a proper 2022 breakout game soon.

Racks up 75 yards in Week 2 loss

McLaurin caught four of eight targets for 75 yards and added a seven-yard run in Sunday's 36-27 loss to the Lions.

Analysis: McLaurin finished three yards and one target shy of Curtis Samuel's team-leading totals. Both Samuel and Jahan Dotson got into the end zone again after doing so last week, but McLaurin failed to extend his own touchdown streak to two games. McLaurin remains the top wide receiver for Washington heading into a Week 3 showdown with the Eagles, but the gap between him and the alternative options appears substantially smaller than it was last season.

Analysis: Fresh off of a much-deserved contract extension, McLaurin did not waste any time proving he was worth the money. McLaurin has put together some strong fantasy seasons with subpar play under center, so even the flawed Wentz could be a boon to the star wideout's stock in 2022. McLaurin has been placed in the league's concussion protocol, Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reports.

Analysis: McLaurin didn't practice Tuesday, and the reason for his absence wasn't known at the time. It's not clear what type of symptoms McLaurin is dealing with, but he'll need to clear the protocol in order to play Week 17, and Washington figures to proceed with caution given that the team has nothing to play for but draft position.

May have suffered injury

McLaurin (undisclosed) wasn't present at Tuesday's unofficial practice, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: According to Standig, McLaurin was "dinged [up] late" during a Week 16 overtime loss to the Giants. Washington didn't get the ball during the extra session, so McLaurin's last play was a five-yard catch just after the two-minute warning. No injury has been mentioned in the wake of the contest, and because the team won't release a practice report until Wednesday, his health likely won't be touched on until that point.

Logs 86 receiving yards

McLaurin caught seven of nine targets for 86 yards during Sunday's 41-35 loss to the Giants.

Analysis: McLaurin finished second on the team in targets while pacing the group in receptions and receiving yards. He broke off a long gain of 34 yards and thrived even though Case Keenum split time under center with Dwayne Haskins. McLaurin is now over 900 receiving yards for the season and will look to cap an impressive rookie campaign next Sunday against a beatable Eagles pass defense.

Torches Eagles again

McLaurin caught all five of his targets for 130 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-27 loss to Philadelphia.

Analysis: McLaurin got behind the defense for a 75-yard touchdown late in the first quarter. That was the outstanding rookie's seventh touchdown of the season, as McLaurin has demonstrated a tremendous combination of ball skills and speed. His 130 receiving yards set a new career high, surpassing the 125 yards McLaurin posted against these same Eagles back in Week 1. McLaurin will take a two-game touchdown streak into a Week 16 matchup against a vulnerable Giants secondary.

Boosts production in loss

McLaurin secured four of seven targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in the Redskins' 20-15 loss to the Packers on Sunday.

Analysis: McLaurin led the Redskins in receiving yardage with his modest total, and he found the end zone for the first time since Week 6 against the Dolphins with an acrobatic one-handed grab in tight coverage. Analysis: Although his team pulled off a terrific road victory, McLaurin was limited to one reception that gained 11 yards and another that lost three. This dud performance comes at an unfortunate time for owners of McLaurin, who had totaled 141 receiving yards on 16 targets over his last two games. Analysis: McLaurin's 12 targets set a season high. Though he doesn't hold quite the same value as he did earlier this season when veteran Case Keenum was lofting up passes to him in the end zone, the rookie is still Washington's most consistent pass-catcher and has rapport with fellow rookie Buckeye Dwayne Haskins.
