Finds work in four games
Taylor finished the 2021 season with 23 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown. He also caught two passes for three yards.
Analysis: Taylor spent roughly the first half of the season on the Packers' practice squad, but he took over as the team's third running back after Kylin Hill (knee) went down for the season Week 8 and filled that role the rest of the way. With fellow running backs Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon under contract for 2022, Taylor will not be in position to climb the depth chart if he remains with Green Bay. However, Hill may not be ready to play Week 1, so Taylor could open next season in the same spot he…read more

Finds paydirt in finale
Taylor ran 11 times for 53 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for three yards in Sunday's 37-30 loss to the Lions.
Analysis: Taylor and AJ Dillon shared the backfield duties with Aaron Jones (knee) sidelined, and the former set career highs in carries and rushing yards while tallying both the first receptions and touchdown of his career. Jones should return for the Packers' playoff opener in two weeks, which presumably will put Taylor back in a bit role.

Takes career-high six carries
Taylor had six carries for 18 yards in Sunday's 37-10 victory over the Vikings.
Analysis: Taylor did not take a carry until halfway through the fourth quarter of Sunday's contest, but the six he recorded from there on out were the most he's tallied as a professional. He could top that number Week 18 should the Packers elect to limit top running backs Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon -- or hold them out altogether with the NFC's top seed in hand.

Not involved in Week 12 win
Taylor did not play a snap on offense in Sunday's 36-28 victory over the Rams.
Analysis: Taylor suited up Sunday for the fourth game in a row, but with Aaron Jones returning to action after missing one game and part of the previous one with a knee injury, Taylor was not involved in the game plan. With Jones getting an extra week to recover thanks to the Packers' Week 13 bye and AJ Dillon also handling a heavy workload, expect Taylor to again be limited to special teams work -- at best -- when the Packers return to action in Week 14.

Takes four carries as backup
Taylor had four carries for 11 yards in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: There was talk that another player or two could fill the backup role behind AJ Dillon with starting running back Aaron Jones (knee) inactive for Week 11, but it was Taylor who wound up filling the spot. While Taylor set new career bests in both carries and rushing yards, he was only on the field for 15 snaps, and his four touches paled in comparison to Dillon's 17. Jones has not been ruled out for Week 12, but it seems likely the Packers will hold him out with a bye on the schedule the…read more

May not handle backup role Week 11
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Wednesday that Taylor will need to be ready for the No. 2 running back role while Aaron Jones (knee) is unavailable, but the coach also suggested the Packers may look at other options for backup duties behind fill-in starter AJ Dillon, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Analysis: With Jones expected to miss only a week or two, LaFleur likely is referring to a potential practice squad promotion to challenge Taylor, rather than bringing in a free agent from outside the organization. The Packers have Ryquell Armstead and Kerrith Whyte on their practice squad, while Taylor has been active as the No. 3 back ever since Kylin Hill suffered an ACL tear Week 8. The No. 3 role wasn't expected to come with any work outside of garbage time, but Taylor took two carries for seven…read more

Pressed into duty
Taylor had two carries for seven yards in Sunday's 17-0 victory over the Seahawks.
Analysis: Taylor has been with the Packers since signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2020, but he spent his entire rookie season on the non-football injury list and was on the practice squad for the first eight weeks of the current campaign. He was promoted to the active roster prior to Week 9 after fellow running back Kylin Hill (knee) landed on injured reserve, and he finally got a chance to take his first NFL carries after another running back -- Aaron Jones -- went down with a knee…read more

Signs with Packers
Taylor signed a contract with the Packers on Thursday.
Analysis: Taylor was waived by Green Bay at the end of August and has spent time on the team's practice squad to begin the regular season. The 23-year-old hasn't yet made his regular-season debut in the NFL but will serve as the Packers' No. 3 running back after Kylin Hill suffered a torn ACL last week.

Waived by Packers
Taylor was waived by the Packers on Tuesday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Taylor worked as the Packers' fourth running back during training camp, but the team elected to keep only three players at his position, so there was not room for him on the roster. He has been with the Packers since signing with the team as an undrafted free agent in April of 2020, and that could help him sew up a spot on the team's practice squad.

Remains fourth on depth chart
Taylor had eight carries for 48 yards and one reception for seven yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Texans. He also lost a fumble in the contest.
Analysis: Taylor was efficient when he touched the ball, but the fumble certainly didn't help his chances of securing a roster spot, and the running back directly ahead of him on the depth chart -- Kylin Hill -- likely locked himself into the No. 3 spot on the depth chart in Saturday's game. With the Packers likely keeping only three running backs, Taylor is on the outside looking in with one preseason game to go.

Nine carries in preseason opener
Taylor had nine carries for 22 yards in the Packers' preseason opener against the Texans.
Analysis: Taylor was not efficient with his opportunities, but he did lead the Packers in carries in their first exhibition contest. Taylor entered the game after Kylin Hill and ahead of Dexter Williams, suggesting he currently sits fourth on the depth chart with two preseason contests to go.

Returns to practice
Taylor (groin) returned to the practice field Monday, Eric Boynton of WeAreGreenBay.com reports.
Analysis: Taylor started training camp on the PUP list due to a groin injury but has now returned to action alongside his teammates. The second-year back now has a chance to compete for the No. 3 running back spot on the depth chart behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon.

Nursing groin injury
Taylor is currently managing a groin injury, Matt Schneidman of the Athletic reports.
Analysis: Taylor missed his entire rookie season due to a foot injury that dates back to his time at Memphis, but his current stint on the PUP list is due to a groin issue. If the young running back can't get back on the field sometime in August, he could find himself on the outside of Green Bay's depth plans at the position.

Foot remains bothersome
Taylor (foot) was placed on the PUP list Saturday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.
Analysis: Taylor has battled this foot injury for over two years now. It's discouraging that he has still been unable to shake the injury, though the 23-year-old running back still has time to get healthy before the start of the season.

Eyeing healthy sophomore season
Taylor (foot) will spend his first healthy offseason competing for a depth role in Green Bay's backfield, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
Analysis: Taylor missed much of his senior season at Memphis in 2019 -- and his entire rookie campaign at the NFL level -- due to a serious foot injury. Though he wasn't activated from the Non-Football Injury list last season, he managed to resume practicing back in December, which bodes well for his recovery. He looks set to compete with Dexter Williams and Mike Weber for a limited amount of reserve roles out of the backfield.

To end season on NFI list
Taylor (foot) will remain on the non-football injury list for the remainder of the season, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Green Bay brought Taylor back to practice in order to study the undrafted rookie's progress from a foot injury. However, ultimately the team did not elect to activate him following a three-week observation period. Per league rules, the 22-year-old will now be unavailable for the rest of the season in either a practice or game situation.

Back to practice
Taylor (foot) returned to practice Thursday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Thursday's session marks Taylor's first practice activity since joining the Packers. He spent his entire rookie season on the non-football injury list due to a foot injury sustained back at Memphis. Green Bay will now have a 21-day window to monitor Taylor at practice without him counting against the active roster.

Added to NFI list
Taylor (undisclosed) was added to the reserve/non-football injury on Saturday, Mike Spofford of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Taylor spent all of training camp on the active/non-football injury list and will now shuffle to the NFI list for the remainder of the season as he continues to recover from an undisclosed injury.

On to NFI list
The Packers placed Turner (undisclosed) on the active/non-football injury list Friday, Jason Wilde of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: An undrafted free agent out of Memphis, Turner will have to get healthy before he has the chance to make an impression on the coaching staff in camp. On a depth chart topped by Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams and rookie second-round pick AJ Dillon. Turner may be competing for one spot on the regular-season roster.
