Could miss rest of 2024 season
General manager Ryan Poles relayed Sunday that Brisker (concussion) "wasn't making the progress we wanted," which is what caused the Bears to place the third-year safety on injured reserve Saturday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Prior to being placed on IR, Brisker had already missed the Bears' previous four games due to a concussion he suffered in Week 5 against the Panthers. The 2022 second-round pick has evidently struggled to go through the league's five-step concussion protocols, and even though the earliest he could return from IR would be Week 15 against the Vikings on Monday, Dec. 16, Poles noted that the Bears are, "Going to slow...and allow[ing] [Brisker] to take his time to come back. Placed on injured reserve
The Bears placed Brisker (concussion) on injured reserve Thursday, Chris Emma of 670TheScore.com reports.
Analysis: Brisker entered concussion protocols following the Bears' Week 5 win over the Panthers, which has prevented from playing in each of Chicago's last four games. Now that he's been placed on injured reserve, Brisker will be forced to miss at least the next four regular-season games, making Week 15 against the Vikings on Monday, Dec. 16 the earliest he can return. Elijah Hicks will continue to serve as the Bears' starting strong safety alongside free safety Kevin Byard.

Won't play vs. Packers
Brisker (concussion) won't play in Sunday's game versus Green Bay, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Coach Matt Eberflus said Wednesday that Brisker is "week-to-week" as he continues to progress through concussion protocol. His next chance to play will be in Week 12 versus the Vikings.

Absent from practice to open week
Brisker (concussion) did not practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Brisker has missed the Bears' last three games due to a concussion he suffered in Week 5 against the Panthers. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reported earlier Wednesday that Brisker is unlikely to play Sunday against the Patriots, and his absence from practice to begin Week 10 prep seemingly supports that notion.

Unlikely to play this week
Brisker is not expected to clear the five-step concussion protocol before Sunday's game against the Patriots, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brisker last played Week 5, and he hasn't made enough progress in his recovery from the concussion at this point to put himself on track to play Week 10. Elijah Hicks would likely be in store for another expanded role at safety if Brisker misses his fourth straight game Sunday.

Won't play Sunday
Brisker (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals.
Analysis: Brisker was unable to practice all week and is now in line to miss his third consecutive game due to a concussion sustained in the Bears' Week 5 win over the Panthers. Elijah Hicks is expected to continue serving as Chicago's top strong safety until Brisker can pass through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol.

Remains in protocols
Brisker (concussion) did not practice Wednesday, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brisker has been sidelined since he began suffering from concussion symptoms the Monday after their Week 5 win over the Panthers. It's not clear if the Penn State product is making much progress in his recovery, but he'll need to show he can practice and be cleared by an independent neurologist before returning to action. Considering the situation, he may be on the wrong side of questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Won't play in Week 8
Brisker (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Commanders.
Analysis: It appears Brisker still hasn't passed the NFL's five-step concussion protocol following the Bears' bye week, so he's in line to miss his second consecutive game Sunday. Expect Elijah Hicks to start alongside Kevin Byard as part of Chicago's top safety duo in Brisker's stead.

Won't play Sunday
Bears general manager Ryan Poles said Brisker (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brisker began displaying concussion symptoms Monday, after the team's Week 5 win over the Panthers. The Penn State product did not travel with the Bears to London, but he wasn't immediately ruled out from clearing the five-step concussion protocol prior to the weekend. However, the Bears are now deciding to play it safe with Brisker, who will have Week 6 plus a Week 7 bye to potentially exit the protocol in time to return to the lineup Week 8 versus the Commanders on Oct. 27. In concussion protocol
Brisker displayed concussion symptoms Monday and isn't traveling with the Bears to London ahead of the team's Week 6 game against the Jaguars, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Brisker presumably sustained the concussion in Sunday's victory over Carolina. He finished the game with five tackles (three solo), one pass defensed and one forced fumble on 49 snaps (84 percent), marking the first time all season that he didn't play every snap on defense. While Brisker still has time to clear the five-step concussion protocol prior to Sunday's game against Jacksonville, the fact that he didn't travel with the team likely suggests that the Bears aren't counting on him being…read more

Huge performance in victory
Brisker tallied 13 stops, an interception and a sack in the Bears' 24-18 win over the Rams on Sunday.
Analysis: After averaging eight tackles through three games, Brisker had his highest tackle total of the season while recording his first interception and sack of the campaign. With Brisker's worst game of 2024 being a six-tackle performance, he is a high-floor, high-upside IDP as a defensive back.

Big performance in Week 1
Brisker collected 10 tackles in the Bears' 24-17 win over the Titans on Sunday.
Analysis: Brisker averaged seven tackles per game in each of his first two year with the Bears, so his Week 1 performance demonstrates an upside performance based on his career norms. In an emerging Chicago defense, Brisker could be in line to increase his 2022-2023 production, which could make him an elite IDP.

Back at practice Wednesday
Brisker (undisclosed) was not listed on the Bears' injury report Wednesday.
Analysis: Brisker missed multiple weeks of practice during training camp due to an unspecified injury. He was able to progress to individual drills, and it appears the 2022 second-round pick is fully healthy from whatever was ailing him. Brisker has registered back-to-back 100-tackle seasons to start his NFL career, and he will serve as the Bears' starting strong safety alongside free safety Kevin Byard.

Returns in limited capacity
After missing the last three weeks due to an undisclosed injury, Brisker returned to practice in a limited capacity Tuesday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: It's not clear what has been ailing Brisker, but the 2022 second-round pick has been sidelined with the unspecified injury and has missed both of Chicago's preseason bouts. Given that he's still limited in his practice participation, he'll likely sit out of Thursday's preseason finale against Kansas City. Once fully healthy, Brisker is slated to serve as the Bears' starting strong safety and work alongside free safety Kevin Byard (undisclosed).

Potential to be elite IDP
Brisker averaged 104.5 tackles and 15 games played during his first two years with the Bears.
Analysis: Since 2022, Brisker has just four games with fewer than five tackles, giving him an excellent IDP floor. In addition, the safety showed upside last year by posting at least eight tackles in four of his last nine games. If the defense around him continues to improve, Brisker may be freed up to make more big plays. The third-year player is worth considering as a starting option in IDP leagues.

Concludes second season in Chicago
Brisker posted eight tackles in the Bears' 17-9 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: Brisker was a high-variance IDP, as his weekly tackle totals showed a pattern of highs and lows. In 15 games, the safety collected 105 tackles, one sack, one interception and a forced fumble. With two years remaining on his rookie contract, Brisker could see his production increase in 2024 if the Bears continue to build on the defensive improvements they made in the second half of the season.

Ready for Week 15
Brisker (groin) is officially active for Sunday's game at Cleveland, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Brisker put in two limited practices during the week to earn the questionable tag and he's been cleared to play Sunday against the Browns. The 24-year-old tallied 17 tackles and a forced fumble last week against the Lions, which is the second time this season he's reached double-digit stops.

Deemed questionable for Week 15
Brisker (groin) is questionable to suit up against the Browns on Sunday.
Analysis: Brisker compiled a whopping 17 stops in last Sunday's win over Detroit, but he also picked up a groin injury. The safety logged an LP/DNP/LP progression from Wednesday to Friday, leaving his status in the air for Sunday's contest in Cleveland. If Brisker is unable to suit up, Elijah Hicks figures to slide into his starting role.

Takes step backward
Brisker (groin) did not practice Thursday.
Analysis: Brisker logged a limited practice Wednesday, so this is clearly a step in the wrong direction for the second-year safety, and a late-week downgrade usually doesn't bode well for a player suiting up on game day. Brisker will try to get back on the field Friday to help increase his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Browns.

Brisker (groin) was a limited participant at the Bears' practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Brisker appears to have picked up a groin injury in Chicago's win over the Lions in Week 14, a contest in which he recorded 17 tackles. The safety will have two more practice sessions to increase his workload to full participation ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Browns.

Incredible performance
Brisker recorded 17 tackles in the Bears' 28-13 win over the Lions on Sunday.
Analysis: Brisker typically records four to seven stops in most games. However, he has increased his IDP production with nine or more tackles in three of his last five games. Brisker has gone from being a high-floor IDP to one of the better ones in the league at safety.

Pair of big plays in win
Brisker recorded half a sack, three tackles and an interception in the Bears' 12-10 win over the Vikings on Monday.
Analysis: Although Brisker recorded a season-low with three stops, he made his presence felt by getting his first pick of the season along with his second half-sack game of the year. He'll remain a strong weekly IDP based ion his typical tackle numbers.

Another big game
Brisker tallied nine tackles in the Bears' 16-13 win over the Panthers on Thursday.

Logs full practice session Monday
Brisker (concussion) was a full participant in Monday's walk-through practice.
Analysis: Brisker missed the Bears' last two games while dealing with concussion symptoms, but he's since cleared the league's five-step protocol and should be able to return to action this Thursday versus Carolina. He's been a steady source of tackles when healthy, averaging 6.4 stops over his seven contests thus far this season.

Clears concussion protocol
Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said Monday that Brisker has cleared the concussion protocol and will be available for Thursday's game against the Panthers, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Brisker missed the Bears' last two games while in the protocol. He will likely step back into a starting role at safety Week 10, and he projects as a solid IDP option after amassing 45 tackles, a forced fumble and a half sack through his first seven appearances on the season.

Head coach Matt Eberflus clarified Monday that Brisker was placed back in the league's concussion protocol Monday after dealing with an illness in the week leading up to Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Chargers, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Eberflus noted that Brisker cleared the protocol last Monday, but the safety started to feel ill and had a fever that persisted throughout the week. He was ruled out for the Week 8 game Saturday, and though he overcame the fever by Sunday, he started feeling other symptoms and re-entered the protocol as a result. Analysis: Brisker wasn't able to participate in practice this week while dealing with an illness, and this will be the first game he's missed of the season. Quindell Johnson could be in line for an uptick in defensive snaps Sunday, especially if Eddie Jackson (foot) is also ruled out.

Brisker notched 10 tackles in the Bears' 30-12 win over the Raiders on Sunday.

Brisker (groin) is good to go for Sunday's matchup with the Raiders, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.

Brisker is expected to remain Chicago's starting strong safety after posting 104 tackles in 2022, Adam Jahns of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: In addition to his impressive tackle totals, Brisket also had four sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery over 15 games played. After the Bears revamped their defense in the offseason, Brisker may be even more effective on what is potentially a much-better unit. Standout rookie year
Brisker recorded 10 tackles in the Bears' 29-13 loss to the Vikings in Week 18, and ended the season with 104 tackles, four sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery over 15 games played.
Analysis: After Chicago selected Brisker in the second round of the 2022 draft, he proved to be an immediate impact player. Although he averaged nearly seven tackles per game, his tackle production was at its best from Week 11 on. He also had three interceptions during a five-game span between Weeks 4 and 8. A strong case can be made that he should be one of the top safeties off the board in 2023 IDP drafts. He's under contract through 2025.

Eclipses 90 tackles in loss
Brisker posted eight tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 41-10 defeat to the Lions.
Analysis: Brisker logged his fourth-most tackles in a game this season and his most since returning from a two-game absence with a concussion Weeks 12 and 13. The second-round rookie has also totaled 21 tackles and a sack since the Bears' Week 14 bye, and he should have a chance to record a 100-tackle season if he posts at least a moderate outing Week 18 against Minnesota.

Analysis: Brisker missed back-to-back games due to a concussion heading into the Bears' Week 14 bye, but the extra time off appears to have helped. While it looks like the rookie second-round pick will suit up Sunday against Philadelphia, his official status likely won't be known until Chicago releases its official injury report sometime Wednesday.
