Joins team again
Brown signed with the Rams' practice squad Tuesday.
Analysis: Brown has had multiple stints in Los Angeles, most recently spending training camp with the team before being waived in August. However, he's never kicked in an NFL regular-season game. That could change in Week 3 due to Joshua Karty dealing with a groin injury; however, the rookie kicker is expected to be fine for Sunday's game against the 49ers. If Karty were to suffer a setback, though, Brown would likely be elevated to handle the job.

Let go by Rams
The Rams waived Brown on Tuesday.
Analysis: Brown didn't attempt a field goal in Sunday's preseason game against the Cowboys, while Joshua Karty made both of his field-goal attempts and converted his lone extra-point attempt. Should he clear waivers, Brown will look to catch onto a team in need of a kicker. He converted 22 of 23 field-goal attempts and converted all 42 of his extra-point attempts in his final collegiate season with Stanford in 2022.

Returning to L.A.
The Rams signed Brown to a reserve/future contract Thursday.
Analysis: Brown was thought to be in line to serve as the Rams' Week 1 kicker, but he was let go after he made only four of his seven field-goal attempts in three preseason games. Los Angeles dealt with some kicking problems throughout the year (third-lowest conversion rate on field-goal attempts in the NFL), and Brown will likely have the opportunity to compete for the Rams' top kicker spot once again next season.
